MISSION OF TONKAWA SCHOOL DISTRICT

The education of its students is the primary objective of this district.  Education is both a right and a privilege and all students attending this school are entitled to grow intellectually, morally and physically into self-sufficient citizens who contribute to our democratic society.  The mission of Tonkawa Public School District is to provide a learning environment that respects the individual needs of its students and helps them to reach their full potential.  Tonkawa Board of Education is responsible on behalf of the people of this district to establish, maintain and continually improve the public schools.

Representing the citizens of this school district, the board will provide a cohesive plan of resources to assure that all children graduate, with abilities to read, think and communicate, as productive citizens in the twenty-first century.  The board will involve the Oklahoma State Department of Education, other educational agencies, and citizens, teachers, and students of the district in pursuit of these long-range goals and activities.
